NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship Concludes March Madness Run

On Monday, April 6, the Michigan Wolverines and the UConn Huskies fought over the NCAA March Madness trophy, which was awarded to Michigan in a 69-63 point win — marking their first March Madness win since 1989.

The Wolverines dominated the court with their defense, with Point Guard Elliot Cadeau achieving MVP. Cadeau finished the game with 19 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals. After the game was done, Cadeau told CBS Sports that the NCAA experience was “surreal” and that he is “so proud” of himself.

After the game, Michigan Basketball Coach Dusty May said, “We’re not here without the love, support and coaching from everybody before us. And I want to shout out all of the former Michigan players - this one is for them.” On April 11, May signed a new contract with Michigan, agreeing to continue to be the head coach “for many years to come”. 

Michigan is now ranked as having the most dominant NCAA Tournament run in 2026 since 1985, with a plus-114 point margin, and fans are ready to see what next season has in store for them.
