The Student Government Association for the freshman class has announced that they will be organizing an end-of-the-year beach party. The Class of 2028 is invited to attend the Beach Bash to kick off the summer. The party is going to be held at Savannah Beach on May 22, starting at 5:30 and ending at 8.

If students do intend on joining in on the festivities, there will be many amenities available. While no caterers are confirmed, food and drinks will be provided.

Class Treasurer Claire Vonlindenberg provides reassurance, stating that “We’re looking into caterers like Dairy Queen, Nicolas, Surf Bagel, etc., some of which are not confirmed though.” Other amenities include a variety of sports and games including but not limited to volleyball, spike ball, cornhole, and soccer. Vonliberg also shared information elaborating on this. “We’re looking into creating a prize system for organized tournaments. Swimming is allowed at your own risk.”

When discussing the party with the student body, they only had positive  comments to share. Freshman Alexander Munci shared his opinion on the topic, anticipating a positive party experience. “I am going to attend the party and I think it’s an amazing idea. It’s going to be a great time. I think that everyone should go because people put a lot of work into it.”

Student Government officials strongly recommend that if students want to attend the party that they sign up through the QR code displayed on flyers through the building. The flyers also contain general information on the event such as addresses, times, and activities. The amount of effort that the individuals in charge of the freshman class, Jordyn Bowe, Mia Scott, Claire Vonlindenberg, and Ellen Ramsey, have put into organizing this event is truly admirable and we look forward to seeing what other positive changes and opportunities they come up with.

In addition to the planned activities, students are encouraged to bring their own beach gear including blankets, towels, and beach chairs. As the countdown to summer begins, the beach bash stands as the perfect send-off. Uniting classmates one last time before break and reminiscing on the memories of the Class of 2028’s first year together, with fun, food, and friends guaranteed, this event is not one to miss.
