Editor As the brackets for March Madness 2025 are revealed, basketball fans across the country are eagerly anticipating the tournament. With teams like Duke, Tennessee, Auburn, and Alabama, this year promises fierce competition.
Sophomore Amara Fruchtman shared her thoughts of who she thinks is going to win. “I think Auburn could win because they’ve had a really productive season.”
ESPN Sports stated their analyst on the team, with the team leader being Senior Johni Broom. Broom is placed #1 on the roster with the most points out of all 24 players. Auburn has been reclaiming the top overall seed in the South and are predicted to be in the Final Four of March Madness.
Other Cape students are saying otherwise. Sophomore Theo Hart stated, “Purdue could win. They made it to the National Championship last year so I feel like they could do it again.”
The Purdue Boilermakers were the number one seed in the Midwest Region of the 2024 NCAA Division 1 men’s basketball tournament and this year they are ranked lower, being the No. 7 seed as seen in the beginning of February.
Another sophomore, Liam Crotty, commented, “Because I’m a big fan of this team, I think Ohio State could possibly win.”
Fans are excited for this yearly event, with the First Round being held through March 20-21, the Second Round through March 22-23, the Sweet 16 March 27-28, Elite Eight March 29-30, and Final Four on April 5.
Capping off the season, the NCAA Championship game on April 7 will be held at the State Farm Stadium at Arizona State University in Phoenix.
