Schellville brings joy to festive visitors through December 31.

Schellville, an enchanted winter celebration, is back this year again with more fun and festive activities that have been bringing the community together for seven years. Schellville has many things to do and see, the main event being roller skating. Other activities include the sled hill, train rides, tree maze, snow zone, merry Christmas lane, live music, food, and shopping.

Junior Liam Ramsey attended Schellville and enjoyed the holiday event. “I enjoyed sitting by the fire and relaxing all bundled up and warm, I also enjoyed just strolling around to look at the lights.”

While Schellville is magical and fun, there are also some downsides that have been voiced.

“The lines for a lot of stuff were pretty bad… and I do wish there was an actual ice skating rink again that was better than roller skating in my opinion,”said Ramsey.

Sophomore Isla Touw agreed, stating: “The lines were really long but I think the most annoying thing was the fake snow, I don’t get why they have it. The machines are so loud.” Touw also thought a lot of the activities were fun, however, including “skating and the sled hill.”

Freshman Nick Petito agreed, saying his favorite things were “roller skating, playing in the snow zone, and going in the little tiny houses.”

In terms of food, Schellville has many food trucks that come out. Touw bought Smash Mouth Burgers and said she “loved them.” Petito purchased Grottos and Auntie Anne’s, saying they were both “very good.”

Some may think that Schellville has been going downhill in recent years but during Christmas time it’s a fun event that a lot of people love attending.

Petito commented that, “I think it's a nice little winter wonderland that’s enjoyable for all ages.”
