Teachers and students across the Cape building are being expressive and festive in showing their holiday cheer.
“It really is nice to decorate,” Italian teacher Ms. Loffreda-Mancinelli says. “I think when the students come in [to my classroom], it just feels good and festive to see twinkling lights and colors that add to the whole season.”

“[When I walk into her class], I see lots of candy canes and decorations. They make me excited that the holiday season is coming up.” says freshman Jack Tunnell, an Italian student. Tunnell further states that the festive decor reminds him of the upcoming holiday where he is able to see his long-distance family.
Loffreda-Mancinelli believes that the Christmas decorations “definitely amp up the vibe” believing it puts students in a “good, pleasant mood, and makes them happy.”
Tunnell believes the Christmas decorations “bring joy and spirit to the school” by getting people in the festive mood, and “drives people to get through the last couple days before Christmas break.”
Sophomore Hendrik Guerroro-Gonzalez says, “I feel that the Christmas decorations are good, and they make me feel festive.” Gonzalez expresses that he enjoys seeing the rotunda modified to fit Christmas, and appreciates that the decorations “allow students to feel comfortable as the semester ends.”
“In the halls, I see streamers on the ceiling,” sophomore Ben Carter says, “they make me feel festive.” Carter believes that the diverse decorations “add a greater feeling of festivity,” and makes students less stressed as exams and tests disrupt the last few days before the Christmas break.
Loffreda-Mancinelli expresses that she, in putting up Christmas decorations, “really just likes that it makes everyone smile.”
