On Monday, Sept. 22, Delaware State University officially opened its hub for agriculture and innovation. The twenty million dollar project will allow for modern agriculture and computer science based studies.
This major step was supported financially by the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture and the State of Delaware. In addition to this, the entire project was a partnership with Angolans Technologies, giving it the name “Agilent Hub.”
The new hub will implement the use of local water and soil samples, and be able to include experiments that relate to our community. These new instruments hope to progress the future of farming and similar computer sciences.
Many scholars looking to pursue agriculture will benefit from these new technologies. The Dean of the College of Agriculture, Science, and Technology at Delaware State University, Cherese Winstead, expresses the benefits that it will bring. The hub aims to support local farmers by researching and using the new technology.
Delaware State continues to open major buildings to add depth to their programs, with many more projects to come.
