When Paramount cancelled Dexter Original Sin, the community surrounding the show was outraged. The show was originally announced on September 12th, 2024. The community was initially mixed on the announcement but after season one was officially released, it was very successful and there was already talk of a second season. Eventually, the show was approved for a second season and the community was already making fan casts and other predictions for the content of the second season. Out of nowhere, the show’s second season was unexpectedly cancelled. The fans were angry and the actors were upset. Rightfully so, these actors were promised a second season and the studio robbed them of job security. Many fans were confused after it was revealed that the series failed to surpass the sequel series, Dexter: Resurrection in Viewers. Since the cancellation of the show, actors have been petitioning to bring the show back to life. Alex Shimizu, the actor for the character “Vince Masuka,” in the show received over 100k signatures on a petition to bring back the show using social media. If interested in signing, the petition is hosted on change.org.
